5 Star Review and flip.

I’ve had a lovely review from Betty for my latest poetry book, Pregnant with Death.

Thanks chockymuch, Betty 🙂

And flip. The reason I’m quiet on here at the moment is because my laptop has died and I don’t like to use this WordPress app on my phone too often. It’s just so finicky to operate.

The laptop has had a good life (about 12 years old) and has seen me through some experiences, helped me publish six books and we’ve made many friends through WordPress over the years.

So hip hip hooray to you my friend and farewell.

Hopefully it won’t be too long before I find a replacement but these things can take time as there’s so many out there nowadays!

Thanks again, Betty!

New Books

Look what arrived today!

Nice new copies of my books.

The third book of my little thoughts, A New Sunrise along with Being Human and Silence Happens and my latest poetry collection, Broken Roses with After the Rain.

All looks lovely, I’m rather happy.

Keep your eyes peeled for a competition coming soon 🙂

Broken Roses – Video

Here I am reading from my latest poetry collection, Broken Roses. It’s a more darker collection than After the Rain or my other writings. It deals with death, solitude, loneliness, suicide, darkness, aphantasia, insomnia, love and memories.

Thanks for watching.

Meet Martin Shone, Sublime Poet and Thinker …

Diane Denton, author of Without the Veil Between, Anne Bronte, asked me if I would like to be interviewed for her blog and of course I said yes please!

Hope you enjoy reading 🙂

… who settles upon all things.

In my budding effort to open my blog to host others, today I am featuring Martin Shone, intuitive writer of poetry and prose, profound observationalist and thinker.

Martin lives in the UK and has three grown-up children and a four-year-old granddaughter. By day he works as a school cleaner where his mop and bucket are his tools, but in the evening he swaps those for his keyboard. He’s had various other jobs including Postman, Egg Packer, Security Guard, Soldier, Painter & Decorator, Retail Assistant, and General Dog’s Body, amongst other things. Fun fact: Considering he doesn’t own a TV or listen to the radio very often, he once applied to have a go at reading his poetry on the TV show Britain’s Got Talent. He didn’t get very far though, not even passing the first stage; nerves got the better of him and…

Apologies, 5 Star Review & new book.

Hello all, I’m currently working on another collection of poems which will have a darker feel than After the Rain. I do have a title and theme but for now I’ll keep those to myself. I want to get as much done before I go back to work so I might be a bit quiet here, or I should say a bit quieter as I have been neglecting WordPress recently and I do apologise if I haven’t been getting around to reading your posts.

In the meantime if you fancy reading a bit more of my poetry then After the Rain is now available in a New Edition with a few poetic alterations inside plus a 5 star review on the back cover from author DM Denton, author of ‘Without the Veil Between, Anne Brontë’, who says I sometimes remind her of the Victorian poetess Christina Rossetti. The book contains over 100 poems and is available either from my Self-Publishing site here http://www.lulu.com/spotlight/Martin_Shone or from Barnes & Noble, Amazon, and other online stores.

Thank you all very much for your support.
