Open arms

A new decade is upon us
It is ready to open its arms
to those who welcome it
with love.

Give without expectations
Feel with honesty
Live without
Seek within
Be brave once in a while

And love
because without it
the clock stops here.

My eyes

My eyes, aware of such
aware of light
aware of all things to delight

my eyes see things
I cannot see
their tiredness seeks a reason

Winter’s killing grip takes hold
to cleanse the air of much
It brings about a strange old feeling
… your eyes, aware of such

My eyes weep not
at the sight of love
for that sweet thing is lost

my eyes, aware of such
aware of time
aware of sunset’s rusty rime

After all that rain

After all that rain
all this …
I wake to see art.

Sitting here
with the clocks back an hour
I’m in bed with a coffee.

That bright ball of wool
is being tugged along
by cosmic cats
leaving its fluffy warmth
to permeate the sodden
storm-filled cloak.

Mist curls to chase
the mewing
only to lose substance and fade.

Art remains
to seize the day
and obliterate the night.

New Books

Look what arrived today!

Nice new copies of my books.

The third book of my little thoughts, A New Sunrise along with Being Human and Silence Happens and my latest poetry collection, Broken Roses with After the Rain.

All looks lovely, I’m rather happy.

Keep your eyes peeled for a competition coming soon 🙂
