Hello and welcome to ‘A gap in the clouds‘ where you’ll find poetry, short stories and sometimes little poetic thoughts.
I write whatever I’m feeling or whatever I’m given. I write for me, but they are also for you so I hope you enjoy them. Please translate my poems in any way you feel, read them as if they are yours, see in them whatever you want, make of them what you will.

Hello Martin. I found your blog when commenting on another and it was your photo of your lovely little robin that first drew me because I love robins, especially my ‘Sweet Robin’! I’m so glad that I stopped by your beautiful blog, with your poems, photos and stories, I will be back 🙂

Just read my first Martin Shone poem, by way of dVerse Open Link Night, but it won’t be the last!
I lived iin Wolverhampton for a year or two before migrating, and my son lives there now. The place gets an undeserved bad press. I was very happy there.

Hiya Martin,
Well, thanks to the wee card that you included with the e-bay book I bought from you recently, I have found myself here.
Haven’t looked at all the things here yet, but have really enjoyed the poems I have read so far. Particularly loved the “Hug for you” one – love the sense, as the lines get smaller, and the rhythm speeds up, that it is as if the hug is squeezing tighter and tighter 🙂
Will pop in to read some more in the future!
All the best,
Caroline
